What we collect when you order a report, who helps us process it, and how to reach us about your information.

Last updated October 23, 2026

The short version

  • We collect what an order needs: the business details you enter and your email address.
  • Stripe processes your payment. We never receive or store your full card number.
  • We don't sell information, and the site uses no advertising or analytics cookies.
  • Producing your report never sends your email address or payment details to our research or AI providers.

What we collect

  • Order details: the business name, any trading name, the city and state, the trade, and the website you enter, plus the business listing you choose with “Find this business.”
  • Your email address, to send your report and to contact you about the order. The first time you order, and every 30 days after on the same computer, we email a one-time code to confirm the address is yours.
  • Payment information, which Stripe collects on its own checkout page. We receive confirmation of payment and transaction details, such as the card type and its last four digits, but never your full card number. If you choose to save a card at checkout, Stripe stores it under your email so it is filled in next time, and you can remove it there.
  • Order records, such as when an order was placed, paid for, delivered, or refunded, and a copy of the report we sent, which shows the email address it went to.
  • Company accounts, if your company has one: the company's name and email domain, its admins' and approved people's email addresses, the answers given when it was set up, and which reports were ordered, by whom, and when. The company's admins can see that order history. Stripe holds the company card, and we keep only its type and last four digits. When an account is closed, we remove the card from Stripe but keep the account's record and order history.

The site sets no advertising or analytics cookies and runs no tracking scripts. Its only cookie keeps you signed in on that computer for 30 days after you confirm your email. It holds your email address and when it expires, and signing out removes it. Stripe's checkout page is hosted by Stripe and uses its own cookies under Stripe's privacy policy. Like most websites, ours may keep standard server logs, such as IP addresses and request times, for security and troubleshooting.

Information about the businesses we research

Reports are compiled from information that businesses and their customers have made public: websites, reviews, social profiles, permits, and public records. A report can include names that appear in those sources, such as a business owner's name, or a reviewer's name cited beside the review it comes from. We use this information only to describe what the business does.

If you're named in a report and want something corrected or removed, contact us and we'll review your request.

How we use information

  • To produce and deliver the report you ordered.
  • To process payments and refunds, and to respond to disputes.
  • To answer your questions about an order.
  • To review the quality of our reports and improve how they're made.
  • To keep the service secure and prevent misuse.
  • To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't use it for advertising.

Who processes it for us

We share information only with the companies that help us run the service, and only what each one needs:

  • Stripe: payments, refunds, and disputes.
  • Resend: emailing your report.
  • Anthropic: AI analysis of the business's public information.
  • Google: business lookup and published reviews.
  • Tavily, Firecrawl, and Jina: searching for and retrieving public web pages about the business.
  • Render: hosting the site, and storing order records and copies of delivered reports.
  • The tools we use to run the business, such as email and software, including AI assistants. These may handle order information, including your email address.

Producing a report sends our research and AI providers the business details from your order and the public material about that business, never your email address or payment details. We may also disclose information when the law requires it, or to protect our rights or the safety of others.

How long we keep it

We keep order records, including your email address and copies of delivered reports, for as long as we need them to deliver reports, handle refunds and disputes, review report quality, and meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations. After that, we delete or anonymize them. Stripe and Resend keep their own records of payments and emails, under their own retention policies.

Your choices and rights

You can ask what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, by emailing contact@underwritermind.com. We may need to keep some records, such as payment records, where the law requires. Depending on where you live, privacy laws may give you further rights. Contact us to exercise them.

Security

Payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. We take reasonable measures to protect the information we hold, though no system is completely secure.

Children

The service is for businesses and isn't directed at children. We don't knowingly collect information from children.

Changes

We'll update this policy as the service changes. The date at the top shows the current version.
