Refund & Dispute Policy

Every Risk Report is researched specifically for the business you name. This policy explains when you're eligible for a refund and how to reach us if something goes wrong with your order.

Last updated October 8, 2026

The short version

  • A report we can't complete is refunded automatically.
  • A report that never arrives is resent or refunded.
  • A report on the wrong business, through our error, is rerun or refunded.
  • A report our own quality checks find critically flawed is replaced at no charge.
  • A completed report isn't refunded just because it's no longer needed.
  • Contact us before disputing a charge. We can often resolve it directly, and faster.

What you're buying

Each order buys one Risk Report on the business you name. A Standard report comes from a single research pass; a Thorough report merges two passes into one.

After you pay, we research the business's publicly available information, write the report, and email it to you as a PDF. That usually takes a few minutes, or around five for a Thorough report. There are no subscriptions, recurring charges, or automatic renewals.

When we refund

  • A report we can't complete. If research or delivery fails, your payment is refunded automatically and we email you to say so. You don't need to ask.
  • A report that doesn't arrive. If nothing has arrived after about fifteen minutes, check your spam or junk folder, then contact us. We'll resend it, or refund you if we can't deliver it.
  • The wrong business, through our error. If the report describes a different business from the one you ordered, such as one with the same or a similar name in another city, and the details you entered were correct, we'll rerun it at no charge or refund you, whichever you prefer.
  • A duplicate charge. If you were charged twice for the same report by mistake, we'll refund the duplicate.
  • A file that won't open. If the PDF is damaged or won't open, we'll resend it or refund you.

When we send a new report

We review delivered reports as part of our own quality checks. If we find that a report we delivered was critically wrong or flawed through our error, we'll send you a new one at no charge. You don't need to ask, and we'll tell you why we're sending it.

When we don't refund

Because each report is researched and produced for the business you name, we don't refund a report that has been completed and delivered simply because it's no longer needed.

A report states what public sources show, and cites them so you can check its findings. Those sources can be incomplete or inaccurate, and they change over time. A finding that accurately reflects its source isn't grounds for a refund, even if the source itself is wrong or later changes. If you believe a finding misstates the source it cites, tell us. We'll look into it and work to find a solution that satisfies both parties.

If the details on your order were wrong, such as a misspelled name or the wrong city, the report reflects what was entered.

How refunds are paid

Refunds go back to your original payment method. For an order on a company account, that's the company card. Most banks show a refund within 5 to 10 business days after we issue it, though timing varies by bank.

Before you dispute a charge

If a charge looks wrong, or something went wrong with an order, email us first at contact@underwritermind.com with the email address on the order and the business you ordered. We aim to reply within two business days. Contacting us first lets us look into the order and, where appropriate, refund you directly, which is faster than a bank dispute.

If a dispute is opened with your bank, we respond through our payment processor, Stripe, with the order's record: when it was placed, the business researched, and when the report was delivered.
